Claus Overkamp, born in Essen in 1963, is a director, actor and theatre pedagogue (BUT). After graduating from high school, completing his civilian service and studying social sciences (diploma), he founded the Marabu theatre together with Tina Jücker (1993). Since then, he has been part of the artistic management and board of the marabu projekte e. V. association and has also worked as a guest director. His productions have received the NRW Theatre Prize several times and have been invited to the German Theatre Meeting for Young Audiences »Augenblick Mal!«. In 2009 and 2013, Overkamp was nominated for the German Theatre Prize »Der Faust« (Best Director in Theatre for Young Audiences).
