We – the Beethovenfest Bonn – invite you to celebrate festivals in open cooperation and to work respectfully. We are aware of hierarchical constellations, which results in a critical understanding of our own position and the privileges that come with it.
We are committed to not tolerating power-abusing dynamics or any discrimination based on age, gender, appearance, sexual orientation, origin, disability or religion. We know that different forms of discrimination can exist simultaneously.
Everyone has non-negotiable physical and psychological boundaries that must be recognized and respected. We want to live a culture in which these are respected. To this end, we have created structures (internal contact point, see below) that enable us to respond to boundary violations.
We create places where boundaries can be communicated. We see creating these places as an ongoing process that involves critical reflection and differentiated exchange.
If a boundary has been crossed and we are informed of this, we listen. We treat the trust placed in us with respect and confidentiality.
We focus on the needs of the person concerned and refer them to external contact points on request and after individual consultation. At the same time, we are aware of the possibility and effects of defamation.
Awareness gives rise to responsibility, which we as organisers of the annual Beethovenfest accept in order to provide the framework for exuberant celebrations and enthusiastic work.
That is why we wish for awareness in our dealings with each other: in front of, behind and on stage.

In addition, you will find a selection of independent general counselling centres below.
Within our institution, an awareness team is available to the staff, audience and artists for any cases of border violation that may occur.
