Lionel Meunier enjoys international renown as conductor and artistic director of the Vox Luminis ensemble, which he founded in 2004. Meunier began his training in his home town of Clamecy (France), where he studied music theory, recorder and trumpet.
He later moved to the Institute of Music and Pedagogy in Namur (Belgium) and studied singing at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. In 2013, Lionel Meunier was awarded the »Namurois de l'Année« prize in the field of culture.
Meunier is invited by various European ensembles as a coach, conductor and artistic director. In 2018, he was engaged by the Théâtre National de Bretagne in Rennes for the Promotion X training programme, in which he mentors 20 young music students in the early stages of their careers.
