Miriam Berger, born in Cologne in 1985, is a musician and actress. She completed her Master of Music at the Institute for Pop Music at the Folkwang University of the Arts. Miriam composes theatre music or performs on stage as an actress – sometimes at the same time. Stations of her theatre work were: Schauspiel Köln, Theater an der Ruhr, Junges Schauspiel Düsseldorf, Theater Magdeburg, Theater Gütersloh, Prinzregenttheater Bochum, Theater Erlangen, Consol Theater Gelsenkirchen and the independent Cologne ensemble Port in Air.
She worked as a composer for the PODIUM Festival Esslingen in 2023. Since 2018 she has been part of the lyrical-musical performance project Sprechduette. Miriam is currently working with the Gossips Kollektiv Frankfurt and travelling solo as BERGER. She works with vocals, piano, synthesizers, loops, sound effects and a three-string cigar box guitar.
Miriam Berger completed her first degree in psychology in 2012. Although she has never worked professionally in psychology, but always as an artist, her curiosity about the human condition also flows into her musical work. However, she probably owes her love of sound and language to the theatre. Poetry and music inspire each other in her work, as they do on her first solo album »Creatures«.
For »ich.würde ...« (»I.would ...«), Miriam is collaborating with Beethovenfest Bonn for the first time.
