For recorder player Sophia Schambeck, it is essential to establish a connection with her audience through music. Always on the lookout for new paths, she experiments with concert formats, electronics and improvisation and is a co-founder of the concert series »Aha! – Klimakonzerte«. Concerts both in Germany and abroad have taken her to the Heidelberger Frühling Festival, the Thüringer Bachwochen and to the Rachmaninov Hall in Moscow and the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, among others. In 2021, she was awarded a scholarship at the German Music Competition and accepted into the »Konzertförderung Deutscher Musikwettbewerb«.
She is currently studying for a Master's degree in »New Music« as well as recorder and historical performance practice in Munich. She also studied medicine and is an alumna of the »Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes«. Since 2018, she has been a scholarship holder of the association »Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now München e.V.« and plays concerts for people who would otherwise have no access to music.
