Committee meetings of the Bundesrat were held in the north wing of the Bundeshaus in Bonn and the plenary sessions took place in the neighbouring former assembly hall of the Pedagogical Academy (»Bundesratssaal«). The north wing was built in 1949 as part of the first extension phase of the Bundeshaus for the Bundesrat and today houses its branch office. It is a five-storey steel-framed building.
