Description
The classical music industry does not have it easy: it has an elitist and dusty reputation. At the same time, its core audience is ageing - and a new one is not growing. Studies show: People who didn't grow up with classical music find it hard to get into it later on.
Yet classical music is not only great, it is also true to life! But how can this be communicated convincingly? Deutsche Welle, ARD Kultur and the Beethovenfest Bonn have jointly developed a new classical music format: In the video series »Tiny House Concert«, young, well-known musicians from the classical music scene meet Steven Walter, artistic director of the Beethovenfest, and Coco Elane, presenter:in and musician:in, and talk about the music they love - in a way that everyone can understand.
So how can a new audience be enthused about classical music? What can the classical music world do to attract new visitors? We would like to discuss this together with experts from the world of classical music, concert organisers, media representatives and musicians. During the discussion, we will present excerpts from the first five episodes of »Tiny House Concert«.
