Andreas Arend is a composer and lutenist. He studied music in Hamburg and Berlin. During the last years he developed various programs and concepts that link historic elements with contempo-rary ones.

He is especially fond of chamber music. He plays frequently as a duo with Nils Mönkemeyer (viola) and Veronika Skuplik (baroque violin). He also enjoys being a part of bigger groups, like the Frei-burger Barockorchester.

Numerous CDs have been issued, lately his own concept album »Ballads within a dream« (2020, DHM), a composed set around old English folk songs for voice, violin, viola da gamba and theorbo.
