Annika Ley, set designer and video artist, studied set and costume design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Maastricht. She then worked at the Bonn Theatre, where she designed the sets for productions including »Club der Utopisten«, »Generation P« and »Das Treibhaus«. She has been designing stage and costume sets for the fringe ensemble since 2009 and, together with Frank Heuel, forms the artistic management team for the projects.
For many years, Annika Ley has been working with digital techniques to expand the space and connect digital and analogue spaces. Of particular note is the production »Map To Utopia« (director: Frank Heuel), a project on the future sustainability of urban living spaces, which was honoured with the Human Machine Award at the international festival A MAZE/BERLIN in 2021.
In 2015, Annika Ley took part in the Watermill Foundation New York/Robert Wilson Masterclass summer academy as a scholarship holder. She gives workshops and lectures on the use of digital technologies in theatre.
