Bart Aerbeydt studied modern horn at the music academies of Ghent and Antwerp with Luc Bergé and Rik Vercruysse. His interest in the colourful and expressive sound of the natural horn dates back to this time. After completing his master’s degree in (modern) horn, he studied natural horn at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam with Teunis van der Zwart.

Aerbeydt now plays in the leading orchestras of the Early music scene. After many years as a guest musician, Bart Aerbeydt was appointed associate and permanent first horn with the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra in 2011.

In 2024, his album »Auf der Jagd nach Romantik« with solo repertoire will be released on the Aparte label in collaboration with the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra.

He teaches natural horn at the Amsterdam Conservatory and the Antwerp Conservatory.
