Evgeny Sviridov is one of the most renowned representatives of the Central European scene of Early Music. Born in St Petersburg in 1989, he studied the violin at the city’s conservatory. As a student, he already won prizes at renowned competitions, including the »Yehudi Menuhin« in Cardiff, the »Premio Paganini« in Genoa and the »Jascha Heifetz« in Vilnius.
After his studies in Russia, Sviridov became increasingly interested in baroque playing – in 2010 he won first prize at the Bach Competition in Leipzig. From 2015 to 2017, he studied baroque violin in Cologne, in 2016 and 2017 he won first prizes and audience awards at the competition in Rouen (Concours Corneille) and the renowned early music competition in Bruges (MA Competition).
Sviridov has been concertmaster of Concerto Köln since 2015 and is as well one of the concertmasters of the B’Rock Orchestra. Since 2017, he has performed more and more frequently and prominently as a soloist. His repertoire is not limited to baroque music, but extends to classical and romantic music.
