JaeHyeong Lee, 2nd concertmaster of the Beethoven Orchestra Bonn, which she joined in September 2021, has quickly made an international name for herself as an up-and-coming young violinist and artist.
Since 2017, she has been playing with Lux Piano Trio, with whom she won third prize, the audience prize and the prize for the best interpretation of the commissioned composition at the 67th ARD International Music Competition in Munich in 2018.
Her success has been marked by other awards, including first prize at the 2016 Postacchini International Violin Competition in Italy and third prize at the Leopold Mozart International Violin Competition in Augsburg in the same year. She is also the winner of the 2019 Parkhaus Award at the Wigmore Hall, and the 2018 Gasteig Competition in Munich.
As a soloist, Lee has performed with orchestras such as Munich Radio Orchestra, Southwest German Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra Filamonica Marchigiana, Cologne University Orchestra and KBS Radio Orchestra.
As a chamber musician, she regularly participates in the Kronberg Academy, the Seiji Ozawa Music Academy in Switzerland, and the Pablo Casals Festival.
Born in Seoul (South Korea) in 1992, Jaehyeong Lee began playing the violin at the age of seven. After studying at the Korean National University of Arts, she completed her master's degree and concert exam with Mihaela Martin at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln. She also studied chamber music with Christoph Poppen and Dirk Mommertz at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich.
She plays an Italian violin by Giacomo Zanoli (1745).
