Paul Krämer studied conducting at the HfMT Cologne, first with Prof. Marcus Creed and later with Prof. Peter Dijkstra. The scholarship holder of the German National Academic Foundation completed his conducting studies in 2018 with top marks.
He received further impulses at master classes in Germany and abroad as well as through rehearsals for Karina Canellakis, Francois-Xavier Roth, Markus Stenz, Adam Fischer, Nicholas Collon, Dirk Kaftan and Edo de Waart, among others.
Paul Krämer regularly collaborates with the WDR Rundfunkchor, the Netherlands Radio Choir and the SWR Vokalensemble. In addition to a cappella music, his focus is on the oratorio and choral symphonic repertoire. He has already conducted the Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne, the Cologne Chamber Orchestra, the Bochum Symphony Orchestra, the Wuppertal Symphony Orchestra as well as Concerto con Anima and the Cologne Baroque Orchestra.
His activities take him to the great concert halls of Europe, such as the Cologne Philharmonie, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam or the Brussels Bozar.
Paul Krämer has been artistic director of the Kartäuserkantorei Köln since mid-2013. Under his direction, the choir regularly gives concerts in the Kölner Philharmonie. His activity is supplemented by rehearsals for renowned conductors and orchestras.
In 2016 Paul Krämer took up the post of choral director with the Philharmonic Choir of the City of Bonn, which can be heard in Bonn with both choral symphonic repertoire and chamber choir concerts. In addition to regular rehearsals for the Beethoven Orchestra Bonn, Paul Krämer is a welcome guest with the Philharmonic Choir in Germany and abroad.
Since 2018, Paul Krämer has also been a lecturer for ensemble singing at the Choir Academy of the WDR Radio Choir.
