American pianist Rachel Breen’s performances have been described as »truly impressive« (Gramophone UK), with »a beautiful piano sound and original attention to detail«. She studied first at Yale University and the Juilliard School with Boris Slutsky and Julian Martin respectively, and later was a student of Lars Vogt in Hanover.
Breen has an active competitive career that has earned her first prizes at the Premi Iturbi (2023), the Hans von Bulow International Competition (2023), the Honens International Piano Competition (2022), the Concorso Internazionale Palma D’Oro (2022), the International Beethoven Competition in Vienna (2021), the Livorno International Piano Competition (2020), among others. She has given concerts and master classes in America and Europe.
As a guest artist, she has performed at the Chautauqua Institute, the San Francisco International Piano Festival, the Osimo Piano Hours (Italy) and the Lilacs Series (NYC), among others.
