Sebastian Gokus has been studying timpani and percussion at the Cologne University of Music and Dance with Prof. Carlos Tarcha since 2012 and instrumental pedagogy since 2016.
With his ensemble »Bi-Cussion«, he was the 2012 national winner of the »Jugend Musiziert« competition. With »Splash Percussion NRW« he performed in concerts in São Paulo (Brazil) and Seoul (South Korea). Since 2015 he has been an active member of the ensemble »Asambura«, with which he travelled to Tanzania in 2016 for a concert tour and musical exchange. In 2014 he founded the percussion ensemble »4beatz« and also performs regularly with his father as a percussion-organ duo. In addition to his extensive concert activity, he took part in the »International Katarzyna Mycka Marimba Akadamie 2015« in Hanover and »IKMMA 2017« in Arcata (California).
At the Musiktheater im Revier in Gelsenkirchen, he has been engaged for several instrumental pedagogical projects, including a picture book setting and two children’s opera projects. Since 2014 he has been leading a percussion project at a migration primary school in Cologne Porz and since September 2018 he has been teaching percussion at the Rochus Music School in Cologne.
