The members of the Chaos String Quartet came together around the multifaceted concept of chaos in science, art and philosophy and share a desire to be a risk-taking, multinational voice on the world’s chamber music stages.
Winners of prestigious international competitions such as Bad Tölz (2023), Haydn (2023), ARD (2022) and Bordeaux (2022), the Chaos String Quartet has quickly established itself on the international music scene. Further successes include 2nd prize and numerous special prizes at the »Bartók World« competition in Budapest and winning the »V. E. Rimbotti« string quartet competition in 2021.
The Chaos String Quartet was selected as a BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist for 2023–2025.
The young ensemble has already performed in many concert series in Germany, Austria, France, Italy, Belgium, Hungary and England as well as at festivals such as Mozartfest Würzburg, MDR Musiksommer, Schwetzinger SWR Festspiele, Heidelberger Frühling, Lockenhaus, Wien Modern, Les Musicales de Normandie, Davos Festival (Young Artists in Concert), Ravenna Festival, Gent Festival van Vlaanderen and Festival Academy Budapest.

In addition to working with their mentor Johannes Meissl in Vienna as part of the ECMAster programme, the musicians completed postgraduate studies at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole with the Cuarteto Casals. The ensemble received further musical inspiration from Eberhard Feltz, Patrick Jüdt, Rainer Schmidt (Hagen Quartet), Hatto Beyerle (Alban Berg Quartet) and Oliver Wille (Kuss Quartet).
