Ensemble CONTINUUM

CONTINUUM, above all, is not many things. For example, it is not a fixed ensemble or a collective. Rather, it is an overall idea that floats above the specific projects and people and can lean in all directions.

CONTINUUM is the freedom to rethink early music, to present it in an innovative way and thus to relate it to a present that is not as far removed from it as the name and the usual performance practice suggest.

CONTINUUM is everything that the multi-award-winning harpsichordist Elina Albach does with instrumentation, no matter how large it is. A pool of instrumentalists and singers that she can draw on, enabling her to realise almost any conceivable version of a piece: From large choral ensembles to intimate three-piece formations.

Since 2015, CONTINUUM has been creating projects that explore the topicality of early music, spectacular interweavings of early and contemporary music with the development of new repertoire for baroque instruments and innovative concert designs.
