»It’s not classical, regimented music, but incredibly imaginative. Like in a Shakespeare play: You have to be willing to be completely honest on stage. Then you’ll be transported to the craziest experiences and adventures.«

The concert at a glance
Description
The essence of Beethoven as an »ultra« composer – rebellious, explosive, startlingly emotional: that is the »Pathéthique«. Fabian Müller directly follows it with one of the composer’s calmest sonatas, the Twelfth. Still waters and roaring seas, both are encompassed in the cosmos of the complete thirty-two piano sonatas the pianist traverses in his Beethovenfest cycle. No. 28, which concludes the concert, stands at the threshold of the enigmatic and dreamy late works.
The video was recorded in the Pierre Boulez Saal for Fabian Müller's Beethoven piano sonata cycle for the 2024/25 season.
