The concert at a glance
Description
Restless, passionate, and thus incredibly modern: this already describes Beethoven in his mid-twenties, when he wrote his Fifth Piano Sonata. Fabian Müller’s final concert in the Beethoven cycle takes us from two early works written in the 1790s to the ultimate of all sonatas – the mighty »Hammerklavier«. For the Bonn pianist, it is nothing less than a »musical piece of science fiction«, written for the larger grand piano and the listeners of the future.
The video was recorded in the Pierre Boulez Saal for Fabian Müller's Beethoven piano sonata cycle for the 2024/25 season.
