Jorinde Jelen alias JOLLI was born on the island of Rügen. After graduating from high school, she studied jazz singing and vocal pedagogy in Leipzig. In addition to working in various band projects in Leipzig and Berlin, the singer founded her own band in 2004.
With the Jolli Band she has been playing music for children in various programmes for almost 20 years. Together they have been heard e.g. on Deutschlandfunk Kultur and rbb and could be seen working with Juri Tetzlaff at Ki.Ka. They have been touring the country since 2005 and even presented their music at concerts in Nanjing (China).
In Germany, the Jolli Band has played at music festivals in Leipzig, Dresden, Essen, Ingolstadt, Magdeburg, Jena, for the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, the Kölner Philharmonie and the Beethovenfest Bonn, among others.
In 2017, the Jolli Band released the album »Jollis Wilde Welt der Worte«. 2023 will see the release of the band's new album: »Jolli sieht Grün«.
