Steven Walter is a curator, concert creator and has been the artistic director of the Beethovenfest Bonn since November 2021.

As initiator, artistic director and managing director of PODIUM Esslingen, he has been honoured for numerous innovations, including the Opus Klassik, classical:NEXT Innovation Award and the »Cultural Manager of the Year« award. Steven Walter was also curator of the #bebeethoven fellowship programme to mark the Beethoven anniversary year 2020.

Steven Walter studied cello in Oslo and Detmold, performed regularly in various formations as a chamber musician at home and abroad and was a founding member of various ensembles. He is also a lecturer at several universities and publishes regularly on curatorial and cultural management topics.
