Description
Avi Avital has single-handedly raised the mandolin’s profile to new heights around the world – and he continues to pursue his mission of commissioning new music for this instrument. He has the best-possible partner for that work in the adventurous New York string quartet Brooklyn Rider. The ensemble commissioned several of the works featured on the programme. They also perform arrangements of piano music by J. S. Bach and of Luigi Boccherini’s humorous Madrid night music.
