Description
»Health begins with clean air to breathe, water to drink, enough plants to eat, tolerable temperatures and good community.« Unfortunately, this insight is not as self-evident as it seems. Three years ago, the doctor and science journalist Eckart von Hirschhausen founded the Foundation Gesunde Erde – Gesunde Menschen (Healthy Planet – Healthy People) to make as many people as possible aware of this connection between climate protection and human health. The foundation is committed to climate communication that overcomes distances and really reaches people – in a humorous, understandable and visionary way.
At Beethovenfest, Eckart von Hirschhausen will be talking with the journalist Ellen Heinrichs, who is the founder and managing director of the Bonn Institute for Constructive Journalism. In their discussion, they will be seeking new ways to make journalism more solution-oriented, perspective-rich and dialogue-based, so that people can trust it and make good decisions on how to live their lives.
Eckart von Hirschhausen and Ellen Heinrichs exchange views on the »value of art and constructive journalism for our livelihoods« in this evening of conversation enriched with music. This question about the relevance of art and culture in the face of man-made destruction of nature runs through the entire discourse programme of this year’s Beethovenfest. We are curious to see what answers will be found this evening.
