Pianist Katharina Hack (*1994) is a winner of the Steinway Prize and performs as a soloist and in recitals. She specialises in the works of Frédéric Chopin. She is touring Germany with recitals in many cities. In October 2024 she performed Chopin’s Second Piano Concerto at the Berlin Philharmonie. In 2022, she performed Grieg’s Piano Concerto at the Cologne Philharmonie and recently gave a solo recital at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival. In a trio with violinist Fedor Rudin and clarinettist Zilvinas Brazauskas, she made her debut in the main hall of the Elbphilharmonie in 2022. Recent solo appearances have included concerts with the Klassische Philharmonie Bonn and the Dortmund Philharmonic.
Katharina Hack performs as a duo with her sister Anouchka (cello) on concert stages in Germany and Europe, including the Laeiszhalle Hamburg, the Gasteig Munich, the Fondation Louis Vuitton Paris and the Konzerthaus Dortmund. Since 2021, the sisters have been artistic directors of the meetMUSIC Open Air in Mettingen, which takes place every August. The duo’s first album with works by Dmitri Shostakovich was released by GENUIN classics in 2020 and was nominated for the German Record Critics’ Award and the Opus Klassik. Their current album »Alle Menschen werden Schwestern« was released in autumn 2024 in cooperation with Deutschlandfunk on the renowned Berlin Classics label.
She is studying for her Konzertexamen with Bernd Glemser at the Musikhochschule Würzburg, where she also works as a chamber music assistant. She has received important artistic impulses from master classes with Bernd Goetzke, Sir Andras Schiff and Andrzej Jasinski. Katharina Hack is a fellow of the German Foundation for Musical Life and the Artur and Lieselotte Dumcke Foundation.
